Ascilon was too bussy holding their ground with their backs turned twords the other kingdoms. While the charr came rushing into the kingdom out of no where, ascilon was having some trouble. Packs and packs of these charr just came rushing from the north trying to make it over the Northern Wall. The army of ascilon dident know all of these charr came to tear them apart, so they did the best they could to fight the kingdoms...AND, the charr at the same time. It came down to the Ascilon army being out numbered so they fell back to Orr. The charr followed them to Orr and started killing everyone in that kingdom too. This lead to the explosion, the charr where to out numbered and this royal guy (I think the lich in his human form...) Protected himself with dark magic and exploded the place, everyone died, and the city sank.
About the City over the mountains to the north.....it was abbandon by Ascilon because of the charr, so the charr took it over.I herd this in another post somewhere in here, ill go find it.
When i was talking about The lost planet(game) they got a preview that says, "we traveled over the mountains searching for the santuary, but what we found was war It would be my guess that:
Could mean (in the case of guild wars) we traveled over the mountains to recover the lost city....but what we found was war, involving charr, and other races, we will get allies (new races) cool stuff like that.
not as detailed as I could get, but.....I may edit it tomarrow with more detail in the detail

I've heard that the new campaign will take place in a russian-like continent... perhaps medieval. One of the new professions will probably be a bard. I suspect that the continent will be on the northern part of Tyria, like how Elona is south of the Crystal Desert. I think the Shiverpeaks will be part of it, as well as an undestroyed part of Ascalon.

If they follow the continent/ethnic trend, I'd say something arctic.
I want them to go back to the medieval theme though! EverQuest can have a bazillion expansions while keeping the medieval theme, why can't ANet? I'm totally crazy about all things medieval.
We know Elona and Tyria are on the same supercontinent, it could be even superer-er. :P I'm eager to know what is north of those greyish green mountains that border the top of Ascalon and the Shiverpeaks. Would be interesting if, say, there is more to Deldrimor than in Prophecies, and there are more of them up north or something.

Due to the fact that very little of that made any sense I'm just going to respond...
Calling me a nazi is quite ignorant and ungrounded, do you even know what a nazi is? You just told somebody to improve their grammar a few posts up, stick to your guns eh?
And chapter 4, we know nothing of it. 99% of these posts are by people that have no clue what it is they're talking about and yet get angry when somebody points it out.

What Acerbus said. If you dont have anything good to say dont say it. Take note that some people may not have English as their first language. This thread is turning into people shooting cheap remarks at each other over simple things like grammer. Wow someones grammer was bad! congrats you get a point for pointing it out.
Read it again people Ideas For Chapter 4.

The one thing i would love to see for ch 4 would be the removal of the forced story line... when it was introduced in ch 2 and 3 i was boring imho. they should make the game like Proph.
Thats my 3 1/5 cents =D

Actually, I know several people who have English as their second language who are better users of the language than most native speakers.
It's certainly unreasonable to expect anyone to get there overnight, but you can at least make the effort. I've noticed numerous spelling errors in your posts that could be avoided by double-checking with a dictionary. Furthermore, pretty much every post by a fluent writer is an example of correct... well, more correct grammar and punctuation that you can copy and learn from until you don't have to any more.
It does require a bit of effort, but in the long run it'll mean you'll never be on a receiving end of a conversation like this one (in English, anyway), as well as having people pay more attention to your writing in general. (Even when people aren't being grammar nazis and consciously refusing to read text due to bad grammar, the fact remains that the rules of grammar are there for a reason - it makes things easier to read and understand, and people are more likely to pay attention to something they can understand...)
Sorry about continuing this OT discussion, but I thought it was worth saying.

i'm more interested in who the villian would be for the next chapter. how do you top a forgotten god? my guess would be instead of going for scope, maybe going for scale. what if the villian of chapter 4 was entire guild, its members and leaders, bent on taking over a country and it fell on the player to stop them?

Does anyone else think that Prophecies was an unfair medieval representation? While Tyria seemed to represent parts of Western Europe, compared to how well Cantha and Elona were decorated with their respective themes I don't think Prophecies really could be considered really medieval. Yes there was a feudal system in Ascalon, however what about a Christian religious ideology similar to the belief in the spirits in Cantha and that of a great darkness such as nightfall in Elona. Kryta however though the zealous mantle of the white mantle is more akin to the Ori in Stargate Sg-1 than crusading knights of the 12th century. While I recognize that Arena.net did not create Guild Wars originally with the idea of individual chapters in mind. I hope that the next chapter has, with the Northern Lands, more of a European style. They could easily do Viking kingdoms such as Denmark of Finland, or they could also do, say Sweden during the 30 years war.

Ok Me have a theory Here. They say that they are finishing the quest that were not finished right. Ok now when they say that they meant Gwen. Now it obvious that Gwen did not go over seas so she was maybe brought up north where Chapter 4 is going to be. Now what happened to Gwen no one knows but she was there during the Charr invasion so it might be a really high chance the Charr captured here and raised her for 3 years to be their flame wielding Queen,<<<<Evidence In Town beta attacks of firestorm.....Why Fire? because Nightfall happened 3 years after the searing and Chapter 4 Might be the fourth year or fifth year after the searing. Now the Charr worship the Titans because they are related to fire which means that because they worship fire, the charr lives in the cold regions of the Tyria World and other evidence is that they are all FURRY, THICK FUR COATS, to keep them warm you know. Also Gray has said Binky spelling adventure plus Raindeer in the Winterday Event. Also why in the Hell Charr would worship the titans, will Chapter 4 explain how fire titans manage to live or appeared in the cold regions? (maybe a north pole active volcano idk) Also Right After Nightfall the God Dhuum was still alive and was roumored to be dead. Now from wat I read from wiki Dhuum followers are the ((Titans)) plus the Emissaries of Dhuum, Terrorweb Dryders, The Fury and etc. Now Dhuum and Menzies both worked for Abbadon and they are both Gods and because Abbadon is destyoed what happens now and what will their followers do?
But yea there is my idea I put together in one for Chapter 4 Story or what might happen. Anyone wants to add?

Let's get back on topic.
Since, chapter 3 tied up the 3 chapters, i don't think it is going to have anything to do with Abbadon and Darkness. I think we will be going to further in the region of Deldrimor *nudge nudge Northern Areas*.
Or I would love to see a story based aorund Maguuma and the Ullen river and then Mursaat. Hmm...
